Trend: Cake Pop Classes at Le Dolci

From Bakerella to Martha Stewart and even your neighbourhood Starbucks, delicious sweet balls of candy coated cake known as Cake Pops have become a huge hit with many sweet lovers in North America.  The genius behind these sugary coated cake pops is Angie Dudley a self-taught cake pop master and the creator of Bakerella. Cake Pops have become a popular trend in the United States and United Kingdom and are starting to make an appearance here in Canada.

Cute cake pops are a fun way to turn regular cake batter into something small and delectable. From graduation pops, bride and groom pops, jack-o-lantern pops to cheery Christmas tree pops, the concept of a Cake Pop can be turned into anything that the creative baker desires.

Using moist balls of delicious vanilla cake, students will be able to coat their cake on a stick with different colors of melted candy and add some bedazzle with all sorts of goodies.

It’s stagette season, got sweet plans?

As the pink blossoms bloom and the weather turns warm, stagette season approaches. At this time of year, eager brides-to-be look for something fun and possibly naughty to do before their big day.

Lucky for all you eager brides out there, Le Dolci hosts sugar filled cupcake decorating stagette parties! The classes are private and welcome up to twelve lovely ladies to partake in cupcake decorating, as well as to enjoy a few bottles of bubbly to celebrate. The cupcake fun lasts for two hours and bridesmaids and friends of the bride decorate twelve naughty or nice cupcakes each.

In the past few weeks we have had several bachelorette parties join us for some cupcake fun. If you enjoy sugary sweets, being creative, having a giggle with your best lady friends while sipping your favorite bubbly, than planning your stagette with Le Dolci is just the thing for you!

Mommy/ Daddy & Me Cupcake Decorating Classes

Looking for something fun to do with your kids this summer? Why not make your way to Le Dolci for some icing sugar fun.  You and your little ones can partake in a hands-on experience learning how to decorate colorful kid-friendly cupcakes.

Le Dolci, Toronto’s newest fun, food education studio offers a Mommy/ Daddy & Me cupcake decorating class that gives parents and their little ones a chance to show off their creative side. In small classes, parents and their children will learn some simple techniques to decorate yummy vanilla cupcakes to spoil the family.

The Mommy/ Daddy & Me classes are one hour in length and are usually held in the morning. At the end of each sugary fun class each Mommy/ Daddy and child will take home a pretty little box full of six scrumptious cupcakes decorated with our delicious buttercream icing and some fondant creations that will beat any “Cake Boss” cake.

From June 24th to July 3rd unleash the inner disco diva and bring your rainbow colours to a cupcake near you!

Le Dolci, Toronto’s newest fun, foodie studio located just minutes from Church Street will host ten Pride-tastic cupcake decorating classes complete with fondant, buttercream icing, boas, body paint and rainbow colors.Jamie Taberrer, editor of Gay Times Magazine in the UK says, “A gayer afternoon I’ve never had, it was quite literally the gayest few hours I have had in my entire life.” For the last two years Le Dolci was located in London, UK’s trendy Notting Hill location. Now located back in owner Lisa’s hometown of Toronto, the PRIDE Disco Queen Cupcake Decorating Classes are a must this Pride.

Official Partners of Pride 2011, these classes are perfect for any down time visitors to the city may have. The fun at Le Dolci will take place in their bright and airy studio on King Street West (at Portland).

With Gaga playing on repeat, all participants in body and face paint like Ziggy Stardust – the hands-on, two-hour session is not to be missed. At the end of class, each participant takes home twelve of their own cupcakes to share with other Pride partygoers.

Owner, Lisa says, “Our classes are a creative environment where people can experiment with food coloring, fondant and all tools to decorate cupcakes. They also get a chance to work with butter cream icing, using piping bags and fun piping nozzles to create lovely swirls, twirls and special effects with these bags full of sugar goodness.”
