The Montrose Child Care Centre is located in Little Italy, and supports over 90 families in the Toronto area. Aside from a daycare, it is also a place for children to be nurtured and to grow in a safe, ideal environment.
The teachers and staff at Montrose Child Care Centre have been working hard at developing programs tailored specially for children at certain age groups , providing the care and attention necessary to help them learn. They also have their own chef who prepares nutritious, mainly vegetarian and fresh food every day.
As a member of the community, Le Dolci is proud to assist in their fundraiser by donating one of our decorating classes. We hope to be part of the Montrose Child Care Centre expansion in helping children have a better learning environment, as well as providing training and education to the staff at the centre. They are hoping to provide field trips to local museums and events too, so that the children can have the opportunity to experience different adventures outside the child care centre.
We are happy to assist Montrose Child Care Centre in achieving these goals, by donating one of our classes to their silent auction. The auction will be held on Saturday, December 1, 2012. To find out more details on how you can help, visit Montrose Child Care Centre’s website!
Located in the heart of the Beamsville Bench, Rosewood is Niagara’s first winery and meadery. Producing award winning grape and honey wines, Rosewood is proud to be one of Canada Top 25 Wineries since its inception. With bee hives scattered all over the Niagara Escarpment, Rosewood is a proud honey producer and strives to produce natural wildflower honey from Niagara’s bounty.
We’re very happy to have Krys from Rosewood to share her knowledge on honey and mead with everyone. There will be various types of honey products to taste and learn about the similarities and differences between each one. Additionally, there will be several types of mead to sample! What about a mead cocktail? Krys will also be showing us which ingredients are best to make a refreshing and tasty mead cocktail. An informative honey sampling, bee education, followed by an exclusive tasting of mead & cheese pairings; join us in this exciting new class!
Aside from “Bees, Mead & Cheese“, Kyrs will be hosting another great class called “For the love of Wine & Cupcakes”. Wine, a great accompany to any meal, is also fantastic with dessert. Love wine but want to explore it in a new way? Join Krys as she educates about the newest innovations happening in Niagara, and takes us through a one of a kind wine & dessert tasting session.

At Le Dolci, we love creativity and especially when it has to do with sweet treats! We came across this little article on Cheeseburger Cupcakes from the Trend Hunter website, and knew we had to share this cute idea. They’re fun to eat for all ages and will definitely have everyone going “Oohhh” and “Aahhh”.
KatDW included step-by-step photos on her Flickr account about the process, which is extremely helpful. Kate actually came up with the idea of sharing this guide after being surprised by her boyfriend with these unique cheeseburger cupcakes.
Whether it’s for a party or a gathering, your family and friends will be impressed by your baking skills. They’re fun to make, sweet to taste, and amazing to look at!

We came across an article on The Globe and Mail mentioning Loblaws’ decision to remove artificial colours and flavours from their President’s Choice line of products. We were very pleased indeed!
The public has become more concerned about the use of artificial colours and flavours, and Loblaws believes addressing this concern is the right thing to do. Consumers are now more educated about the health-related issues due to recent studies that link hyperactivity, cancer, etc. to the consumption of artificial colours/flavours.
According to the article, “by the end of this year, all artificial colours in the PC line (which includes Blue Menu, Organics and Green branded products) will be removed; by the end of 2013, all artificial flavours will be removed.”
All this is good news for Canadians and the general public as it’s a sign that we’re moving toward the right direction. At Le Dolci, we also support the use of natural ingredients where no artificial flavours or colours are added to our baked goods (our icing is the only thing we use a teeny bit of color for but we’re working on that too!).
With these initiatives in place, people can make healthier food choices & realize the benefits of real food!
We love this video from the Four Seasons in Boston, take note some of the Christmas Cupcake decorating tips for next year and enjoy the singing! Thanks to one of our fab customers Sharon for spotting it! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Nom0ORUxogw
Prepare to see some fabulous ‘taches being sported on men around the world because in just one week, men will be growing some hairy bits over their lip to promote awareness and raise funds for prostate cancer. On November 1st, Movember officially begins and guys can say goodbye to a squeaky-clean shaven face and raise money for moustache-growing efforts. At Le Dolci, Toronto’s fun, foodie studio, we are showing our support by not waxing our lady moustaches this month (ha, ha) and hosting a Movember cupcake class at Le Dolci, with a portion of class profits going to Movember.
Join us for this fabulously fun class where you are sure to leave with a box of sinfully delicious treats and a bit of creative time under your belt. We hear eating cupcakes makes your ‘tash grow faster.
Touting all natural ingredients, Le Dolci is a great place for young, old and in between to come and try their hand at creating an edible work of art.
Le Dolci’s Movember class is Saturday November 19th, 2011 from 1-3pm.
