Our Farmers Market class is back for the next few months until our beloved Trinity Bellwoods Farmers market ends for another season. On September 22nd join us and Chef Michael Hunter as we scour the market for farmers goodies then come back to whip up a delicious 3 course meal.

No, French Macarons & Macaroons aren’t the same thing!
Let’s put an end to the confusion. Macarons (rrrrrroll your ‘r” like tu viens de Paris!) and macaroons, while both delicious, are very different. Both are made from gluten free recipes, but that’s where the similarities end.
The macaron is a delicious and adorable treat made from almond flour, egg whites, granulated and powdered sugar. Normally they are filled with a buttercream, ganache, or various jams. They come in a variety of colours and can be customized to meet all your macaron needs. This treat is currently on trend because it’s gluten free and so darn pretty!
The macaroon is a much simpler and not-quite-as-cute confection. It’s made from egg whites, sugar, and shredded dried coconut and sometimes dipped in chocolate. Still yummy, but definitely not a French macaron!
