We’ve added a few new classes to our fall repertoire!
Here is a brief description of one of our new favourites: A Lesson In Molecular Gastronomy – Desserts
In this two-hour, hands-on workshop discover the mysteries of the new “modernist cuisine” movement. Learn new and delicious ways to manipulate food products, presenting them in new forms on your plate. This includes Caviar Bubbles which topped our latest creation: the world’s most expensive cupcake.
Utilizing cooking techniques such as Spherification, Powderizing, Gelification and Air and foams we will create new and exciting dishes to tantalize the senses.
We will familiarize you with ingredients such as sodium alginate, agar agar and Tapioca Maltodextrin.
All participants will receive a set of recipes used in the workshop; and as always, everything is included in the cost (ingredients, tools and supplies).
We hope you join us on September 25th from 7-9pm for the first class!
Team Le Dolci
In this class you will learn to make colorful and edible centerpieces with cupcakes. You will learn piping techniques to create floral patterns with buttercream icing and to how to build a cupcake bouquet. Each guest will take home a cupcake bouquet they have decorated and assembled.
The CIBC Run for the Cure is the largest single-day, volunteer-led national event in Canada. This is in support of breast cancer research, education and awareness.
Le Dolci is dedicated to supporting cancer research and will be supporting the silent auction to raise funds for the CIBC Run for the Cure.
This year, CIBC Run for the Cure will be happening on Sunday, September 30th. Get involved; we will be lacing up and running for the cure!

We have more exciting news to announce! Beginning in September, Lisa Kates, Toronto’s soup expert, will be hosting our first gourmet soup drop-in here at Le Dolci. After work, come in for a bowl of comforting and delicious soup made by Lisa K.
Lisa also known as @AFoodGypsy on Twitter, started her own catering company and a not-for-profit called “Food Matters”. She focuses on using local ingredients whenever possible in her recipes. Her soups are AMAZING! Fresh ingredients = tasty flavours! We luv.

The Le Dolci team is extremely excited about the London 2012 Olympics! What about you? The competitions will begin this Friday, July 27th and will go on until August 12. Some of the games we’re looking forward to are Football, Swimming and Triathlon!

The Montrose Child Care Centre is located in Little Italy, and supports over 90 families in the Toronto area. Aside from a daycare, it is also a place for children to be nurtured and to grow in a safe, ideal environment.
The teachers and staff at Montrose Child Care Centre have been working hard at developing programs tailored specially for children at certain age groups , providing the care and attention necessary to help them learn. They also have their own chef who prepares nutritious, mainly vegetarian and fresh food every day.
As a member of the community, Le Dolci is proud to assist in their fundraiser by donating one of our decorating classes. We hope to be part of the Montrose Child Care Centre expansion in helping children have a better learning environment, as well as providing training and education to the staff at the centre. They are hoping to provide field trips to local museums and events too, so that the children can have the opportunity to experience different adventures outside the child care centre.
