This week at Le Dolci's Summer Baking Camp, we're heading to France for a culinary
adventure filled with delicious pastries, artisan bread, creative cake decorating, and classic
French baking traditions. Designed for children who love to create, learn, and explore, our
Tour of France week introduces campers to some of the country's most iconic treats while
helping them build confidence and kitchen skills along the way.

From Paris-inspired cupcakes to freshly baked baguettes and beautiful château cakes, every day brings a new opportunity to discover the magic of French baking.

A Sweet Journey Through France
Food is one of the best ways to experience a new culture, and our Tour of France camp
allows children to do just that through hands-on baking experiences. 

Throughout the week, campers learn about French culinary traditions while developing
practical baking techniques in a fun and supportive environment. Every activity encourages creativity, teamwork, and confidence.

Day 1: Parisian Pâtisserie Cupcakes
The week begins with a trip to Paris through cupcakes inspired by French landmarks, art,
and culture.

Young bakers learn:
● Cupcake baking fundamentals
● Buttercream decorating techniques
● Piping skills
● Fondant decorating
● Creative design concepts

By the end of the day, students transform simple cupcakes into edible works of art worthy of
a Parisian pastry shop.

Day 2: Mini Apple Galettes
French baking is known for its elegance and simplicity, and galettes are the perfect
introduction.

Campers learn:
● How to prepare pastry dough
● Apple slicing and preparation techniques
● Baking fundamentals
● Balancing flavours and textures

The result is a beautiful rustic dessert that showcases classic French pastry traditions.

Day 3: French Baguette Workshop
No French baking experience would be complete without learning how to make a traditional baguette.

Children discover:
● Bread-making fundamentals
● Mixing and kneading techniques
● Dough shaping
● Baking artisan bread
This hands-on lesson helps campers understand how a few simple ingredients can become
one of France's most famous foods.

Day 4: Cinnamon Brioche Twists
Campers continue their French baking journey by creating rich, buttery brioche dough.
During this class, students:
● Learn enriched dough techniques
● Shape decorative brioche twists
● Work with cinnamon and sugar fillings
● Explore baking science through fermentation

The finished pastries are both beautiful and delicious.

Day 5: Château Cake Day
The grand finale of Tour of France week is the highly anticipated Château Cake Challenge.
Throughout the week, campers prepare ideas and decorations for their final cake project. On the last day, they create elaborate cakes inspired by French landmarks, architecture, artists, and culture.

Students use:
● Buttercream techniques
● Fondant decorations
● Creative cake design
● Artistic presentation skills

Parents are invited to celebrate the campers'; achievements and admire their incredible 
creations.
