Kids Summer Camp – Tour of Italy

Summer is all about adventure, discovery, and making unforgettable memories—and this
week at Le Dolci, young bakers are embarking on a delicious journey through Italy without
ever leaving Toronto.

Our popular Kids Summer Baking Camp invites children to explore Italian culture, cuisine, and creativity through hands-on baking and cooking experiences designed especially for aspiring young chefs. From pizza and pasta to cupcakes and cakes inspired by famous Italian landmarks, campers spend the week learning new skills, making friends, and building confidence in the kitchen.

Welcome to Italy: A Culinary Adventure for Kids
At Le Dolci, we believe baking is about more than recipes. It's an opportunity for children to learn, create, and experience different cultures through food. During our Tour of Italy week, campers are introduced to some of Italy's most beloved culinary traditions while learning practical baking and cooking techniques in a fun and supportive environment.
Every day brings a new adventure, new skills, and of course, plenty of delicious treats.

Day 1: Sicilian-Inspired Cupcakes
The week begins with bright and colourful Sicilian-inspired cupcakes. Young bakers learn
basic cake-making and decorating techniques while creating citrus-themed cupcakes
inspired by the sunny flavours of southern Italy.

Students practice:
● Mixing and baking cupcakes
● Buttercream decorating
● Creative fondant work
● Colour and design techniques

Day 2: Pizza Making Party
Few foods are as iconic as pizza, and campers love getting hands-on with dough.

Children learn how to:
● Prepare pizza dough
● Stretch and shape dough
● Select toppings
● Bake individual pizzas

It's a fun introduction to one of Italy's most famous culinary traditions.

Day 3: Fresh Pasta & Focaccia Workshop
Midweek brings a true Italian kitchen experience.

Campers discover:
● How fresh pasta is made from scratch
● Dough mixing and rolling techniques
● Pasta shaping methods
● Decorative focaccia bread creation

This class helps children understand traditional Italian baking and cooking while encouraging
creativity.

Day 4: Chocolate-Dipped Biscotti
Students learn the secrets behind one of Italy's most beloved cookies.

During this session they:
● Mix and shape biscotti dough
● Learn why biscotti are baked twice
● Decorate with chocolate dips and drizzles
● Package their creations to take home

It's a delicious lesson in both baking science and Italian tradition.

Day 5: Italian Icons Cake Challenge
The grand finale of the week is always a favourite. Throughout the week, campers plan and prepare decorations for their final cake project. On the last day, they create spectacular cakes inspired by famous Italian landmarks, foods, and culture.

Expect to see:
● Leaning Tower-inspired designs
● Vespa-themed decorations
● Italian food-inspired toppers
● Creative fondant sculptures

Parents are invited to celebrate the campers' accomplishments and admire their incredible creations.
