Pie Classes in Toronto at Le Dolci

Thinking about joining a pie class in Toronto? Whether you're craving a classic Apple Pie, looking to master Pecan or Pumpkin Pie, or want to try something a little different with Cannoli, Le Dolci Culinary School has a hands-on class for you.

From beginner-friendly pastry techniques to dietary questions and accessibility, here are some of the most common questions about our pie classes.

Is this class suitable for beginners?

Yes! Our Apple, Pecan, Pumpkin, and Lemon Meringue pie classes are all designed for absolute beginners.

Our Cannoli class uses a "monkey see, monkey do" format alongside the chef, so no prior pastry experience is needed there either, though it builds more technical, professional-level skills.

How long is the class?

All of our pie classes, including Cannoli, run for 2 hours.

Can I make this class vegan?

The Apple Pie Class, both regular and Off Peak Perks versions, can be made vegan. We use no egg wash and no butter in the mixture. Just notify our team before you arrive so we can accommodate you.

Our Pecan, Pumpkin, and Lemon Meringue pies currently use eggs, butter, and dairy in the filling. Our Cannoli class uses egg, dairy, and lard or butter, so these classes aren't currently available in a vegan version.

Is there a gluten-free option?

None of our pie or cannoli classes are currently offered gluten-free.

Please reach out to our team in advance if you have specific dietary needs so we can advise what's possible.

Does any class contain nuts or other allergens?

Yes. Our Cannoli class contains nuts and may include almonds, hazelnuts, and sesame seeds.

Please let us know in advance about any allergies so we can guide you accordingly.

Do I take my pie home baked, or do I bake it myself?

For our Apple, Pecan, and Pumpkin Pie Classes, you'll leave with a fully assembled, unbaked 9-inch pie to bake fresh at home or freeze for later.

For Cannoli, you'll leave with your cannoli fully finished, filled, decorated, and ready to enjoy right away.

Do I need to bring anything with me?

No! All ingredients and equipment are provided across every pie and cannoli class.

Just bring yourself and your creativity!

Will I get the recipe afterward?

Yes. Your full recipe is emailed to you before class for the pie classes, so you can recreate it at home anytime.

Is the studio accessible?

Classes may be held in our upstairs studio, which is accessible by stairs only. If you need accommodation, please email us in advance and we'll do our best to help.

Our downstairs studio is wheelchair accessible, but our table heights are higher than usual for cooking purposes. Please email us in advance to discuss if we can accommodate you.

Are these pie classes seasonal?

Our Pecan and Pumpkin Pie classes are especially popular around Thanksgiving, while Apple Pie, Lemon Meringue Pie, and Cannoli classes run year-round.

Is this a good gift idea?

Definitely! Our classes at Le Dolci Culinary School in Toronto are fun, hands-on experiences that are perfect for beginners, family outings, Italian food lovers, or anyone who enjoys spending time in the kitchen.

Apron add-ons are also available on our pie classes if you'd like a keepsake to bring home.
