The Best Thing You Can Do on Your Kid's PA Day This June

Let's be direct. Toronto PA Days can be hard to fill. School is out, work is not, and the suggestions you find online tend to fall into two camps: expensive and overscheduled, or forgettable. We would like to offer a third option.

On Friday June 5 the first PA Day of summer – Le Dolci is running a full-day Baking Camp at our Junction culinary classroom. The theme this session is the World Cup, and the centrepiece is a showstopper buttercream cake that every camper builds from scratch and brings home at the end of the day.

Your child bakes. You pick up a cake. You become a legend in your household. That is the deal.

What Happens During the Day

Camp runs from 9:00 am to 4:00 pm, with early drop-off available from 8:00 am for families who need it. The day is structured but not rigid – there is real baking work happening, and there is also time to breathe.

Each morning starts with a short guided meditation to settle everyone in. From there, campers move into the kitchen and get to work. The June 26 session centres on the World Cup Cake: a layered buttercream cake that kids stack, mask, and ice themselves. They work with fondant, piping bags, and their own creative instincts to decorate their finished cake.

Music runs throughout the day, and there are outdoor activities woven in so it never feels like a sit-still, follow-instructions kind of experience. The goal is for kids to feel capable, creative, and proud of something they made.

Who Is This For

Baking Camp is designed for kids between six and eleven years old. No prior baking experience is needed – our instructors guide campers through every step. If your child has done one of our camps before, they will find new challenges here. If this is their first time in a professional kitchen, they will leave wondering why they waited.

A Word About the Cake

We want to be clear: this is not a cupcake. This is not a cookie decorated with sprinkles. This is a multi-layer buttercream cake that your child assembled, crumb-coated, iced, and decorated in a real culinary classroom. It will look incredible. You will probably photograph it before you cut into it. That is a completely normal response.

We have seen parents walk in expecting something modest and leave holding something they genuinely could not believe a kid made. That moment is what the camp is built around.
