Over six weeks, you'll build a solid foundation of baking and decorating skills that will serve you all season long. You'll start with two styles of vanilla cake (perfect for any occasion), move into rich chocolate and red velvet, then learn glorious sponge cakes that are made for layering with fresh fruit and cream. By the time summer entertaining season is truly underway, you'll have a full repertoire of cakes you can confidently bring to any table.

The decorating skills are where things really get exciting for summer. In the final two weeks of the course, you'll learn how to mask a cake properly, create beautiful ombre buttercream effects, add colour, and use cake combs to create stunning textured finishes. These are the techniques that make a homemade cake look like it came from a professional bakery — and once you know them, you'll use them over and over again.

The course is self-guided, which means you work through each week's lessons at your own pace, on your own schedule. Each session is about 2–3 hours — easy to fit into a summer routine. And every week, you'll join a live Google Meet session with your Chef Instructor and your fellow students for Q&A, feedback, and a whole lot of cake talk.
