What started as a tiny idea (a few cake lovers gathering after class) turned into something far more meaningful: a joyful, frosting-filled community celebration that brought together bakers, beginners, friends, and solo adventurers who simply love cake.
And now?
We’re already planning our biggest, most beautiful Cake Picnic yet for Fall 2026.

First Things First: What Is a Cake Picnic?
A Cake Picnic is exactly what it sounds like — and also so much more.
It’s an outdoor gathering where everyone brings a cake to share. Think picnic blankets, cake slices passed between strangers, music playing, coffee in hand, and tables filled with the most creative, heartfelt desserts you’ve ever seen.
It’s not a competition.
It’s not intimidating.
It’s not about perfection.
It’s about:
* Sharing something you made
* Tasting creations from others
* Meeting new friends
* Celebrating creativity
* Feeling part of something sweet and welcoming
At our 2025 events, guests told us they felt safe, happy, and completely at home. Many came alone and left with new friendships formed over buttercream and berries. Some even travelled from outside the city just to be part of it.
That energy? It was electric. And incredibly special.
Why Is Le Dolci Hosting Cake Picnics?
At Le Dolci Culinary Classroom, cake is at the heart of what we do.
We teach cake decorating, baking bootcamps, and hands-on classes that empower people to create beautiful desserts — whether for fun, wellness, or even launching a business. But what we love just as much as cake… is community.
In our classrooms, we see it every day:
* Strangers laughing together over piping bags
* People gaining confidence
* Friendships forming between layers of sponge
The Cake Picnic is simply an extension of that spirit — but outside, in the sunshine, on blankets, with music and joy.
It’s our way of saying:
You don’t have to bake alone.

Our first picnic proved that even chilly weather can’t stop cake lovers. The second? Pure magic. Perfect weather. Music. Glitter. Flowers. The most stunning cakes baked with so much care.
Someone described it as “Coachella with cake,” and honestly… we’ll take it.
But what made it unforgettable wasn’t the decor or even the desserts.
It was you.
Your laughter.
Your generosity in sharing slices.
Your courage in showing up solo.
Your pride in placing your cake on the table.
That’s what made it special.
