The Best Baking and Cooking Camp for Kids this Summer in Toronto

A Sweet Culinary Journey Through Italy & France 🇮🇹🇫🇷

At Le Dolci, we believe food is one of the most beautiful ways for children to experience the world. During our two-week Summer Tour of Italy & France, campers don’t just bake — they travel through culture, tradition, and storytelling, one recipe at a time.

Through iconic dishes and beloved desserts, children are gently introduced to the flavours, landmarks, and everyday food rituals of Italy and France. Each day begins with a little context: Where does this food come from? When do people eat it? Why is it special? From bustling piazzas to Parisian boulangeries, campers explore how food connects people, places, and memories.

Week 1: Touring Italy Through Food 🇮🇹

Campers journey across Italy’s regions, learning how geography, history, and local traditions influence what Italians bake and eat.

They’ll imagine the citrus groves of Sicily while decorating lemony cupcakes, experience the joy of a Neapolitan pizza kitchen, and discover why fresh pasta is a cornerstone of Italian family life. Along the way, we talk about Italian cafés, village bakeries, and the importance of gathering around the table.

The week culminates in a creative Italian Icons Cake, where campers design edible tributes to Italy’s landmarks, foods, and famous modes of transport — from colosseums to Vespas — followed by a joyful La Piazza Gathering where families come together to celebrate, just like in an Italian town square.

Week 2: Discovering France Through Pâtisserie 🇫🇷

In week two, campers step into the world of French baking and daily food rituals — from the early-morning boulangerie to the lively outdoor market.

Children learn why croissants are a morning tradition, how choux pastry appears in French cafés and celebrations, and how crêpes and galettes reflect regional French cooking. We explore Paris, Brittany, and beyond, using food as a lens to understand French culture, artistry, and attention to detail.

The week concludes with a stunning Château Cake, inspired by French landmarks, foods, and artistic movements like the Impressionists, and a festive La Fête au Marché, where parents are invited to a French market–style bake sale showcasing the campers’ creations.

More Than Baking — A Worldly Experience

By the end of two weeks, children leave with more than baking skills. They gain curiosity about the world, respect for different cultures, and an understanding that food tells stories — about place, people, and tradition.

It’s a delicious introduction to travel, culture, and creativity — no passport required ✨
