A Culinary Journey Through Italy & France 🇮🇹🇫🇷
At Le Dolci, we believe food is one of the most beautiful ways for children to experience the world. During our two-week Summer Tour of Italy & France, campers don’t just bake — they travel through culture, tradition, and storytelling, one recipe at a time.
Through iconic dishes and beloved desserts, children are gently introduced to the flavours, landmarks, and everyday food rituals of Italy and France. Each day begins with a little context: Where does this food come from? When do people eat it? Why is it special? From bustling piazzas to Parisian boulangeries, campers explore how food connects people, places, and memories.
| WEEK 1 | TOUR OF ITALY | |
| DAY 1 | Sicilian Inspired Cupcakes 🍋 | Bake and decorate bright cirtrus-inspired cupcakes inspired by Italy’s sunny coastline. |
| DAY 2 | 🍕 Neapolitan Pizza Fest -Focaccia | Stretch dough, choose toppings, and bake individual sweet and savoury pizzas and make colourful garden themed focaccias. |
| DAY 3 | 🍝 Fresh Pasta Lab | Roll, cut, and shape fresh pasta by hand using traditional techniques. Kids will make delicious pasta that they will eat for lunch and bring home to make for dinner. |
| DAY 4 | Doubled Baked and Dipped Biscotti | Kids will mix, shape, and bake classic Italian-style biscotti, learning why they’re baked twice to get that perfect crunch. Once cooled, they’ll dip and drizzle their biscotti in smooth chocolate for a fun (and delicious) finishing touch. |
| DAY 5 | Italian Icons Cake | Students will sketch out cakes on Monday and start sculpting and making fondant toppers for their final day's creation. Cakes will have iconic Italian landmarks, foods and even iconic modes of transport, like a vespa on them! |
| DAY 5 | LA PIAZZA GATHERING | Families are invited to an Italian-style square gathering - celebrating the week’s creation and join in the fun of our Bake Sale (Italian Mercatto). |
| WEEK 2 | TOUR OF FRANCE 🇫🇷 | |
| DAY 1 | 🧁 Parisian Pâtisserie Cupcakes | Inspired by iconic Paris landmarks like the Eiffel Tower and France's favourite artists, kids will bake and decorate Parisian Pâtisserie Cupcakes. They’ll practice piping, colouring, and creative design as they turn simple cupcakes into edible works of art using fondant and buttercream. |
| DAY 2 | Tarte Normande - Tarte au Pommes | Bakers will learn how to make a classic French Apple Tart (Tarte Normande) by rolling dough, layering apples, and baking everything into a delicious dessert. We’ll talk about choosing the best apples for baking and how French pastries balance sweet and tart flavours. This tart skips the alcohol & focuses on vanilla, cream, and apples for a kid-friendly, delicious finish. 🍎🥧 |
| DAY 3 | French Breads & Baguette | Kids will discover the magic of French baking as they mix, shape, and bake their own classic French baguettes. They’ll learn how simple ingredients turn into a crusty, golden loaf. |
| DAY 4 | 🍝 Savoury Crêpes & Galettes | Kids will make savoury French crêpes and galettes, learning how to swirl batter into thin, delicate pancakes just like they do on the streets of Paris. They’ll fill and fold their creations with savoury & sweet fillings. |
| DAY 5 | 🍰 Château Cake Day | Students will sketch out cakes on Monday and start sculpting and making fondant toppers for their final day's creation. Cakes will have iconic French landmarks, foods and feature iconic French artists' work, like The Impressionists's patterns on them! |
| DAY 5 | La Fête au Marché | Parents are invited to a French market-style bake sale, at our Sousa Mendes Marché where campers proudly showcase & sell their work. |
Why Choose Le Dolci’s Baking & Cooking Camp for Kids?
As a trusted culinary school in Toronto, Le Dolci has spent over a decade teaching kids how to bake safely, confidently, and joyfully — in a professional kitchen built just for them.
🌱 Whole-Child Development (Beyond Baking)
Our kids baking camp blends culinary skills with social, emotional, and academic growth.
Build Confidence & Independence
There’s nothing like the pride of baking something from scratch. Children gain confidence as they master real kitchen techniques and take ownership of their creations.
Make Real Friendships
This is a highly social Toronto kids cooking camp. Collaborative baking projects help kids connect naturally — and playdate swaps by Friday are common (and adorable).
Emotional Intelligence & Teamwork
Through shared responsibilities, kids learn patience, empathy, communication, and how to work together in a positive, supportive environment.
Mindfulness & Focus
Each day begins with gentle stretching and mindfulness to help kids feel grounded, focused, and calm — a skill that supports learning well beyond the kitchen.
Learning Disguised as Baking Fun
This isn’t just a kids baking camp — it’s education you can taste.
-
Math Skills: Measuring, fractions, ratios, and proportions
-
Science: Chemical reactions, yeast fermentation, heat transfer
-
Reading & Sequencing: Following recipes step by step
-
Entrepreneurship: Real-world business skills through our charity bake sale

The Charity Bake Sale Experience
A Camp Favourite!
Throughout the week, campers work together to run a real bake sale:
-

-
Tuesday: Learn ingredient costing & pricing
-
Wednesday: Design signage & marketing materials
-
Thursday: Prep baked goods & displays
-
Friday: Host the bake sale for parents & neighbours
Last summer, our young bakers raised $1,500 for charity — while learning teamwork, leadership, and money skills rarely taught at traditional camps.
