Easy desserts are perfect for the lazy days of August
"August is the Sunday of summer." -Unknown
This time of year is always bittersweet. The last days of summer are here and we'll soon have to give our annual farewell to lazy days, cottage visits, perfectly ripe summer fruits and late night catch ups with friends on patios.
I don't want it to end
At the same time, with all the wonderfulclasses we're offering up this Fallin the studio and virtually, I kinda want to speed up time (but only just a little bit, I promise!).
Before we pull out our sweaters, I'm looking to make the most of the last (unofficial) days of summer. Spending more evenings sitting on the front porch so I can chat with neighbours, planning a grand cake for my brother's 50th birthday and hosting a few backyard get-togethers.
Whatever I'm planning I'm always trying to find ways to make it simple and no fuss.
Last weekend, for example, while visiting my friend Amy at her cottage, I brought along one of our Kit Kat Swirl Brownie Trays with Chocolate Biscuits and Sprinkles. Since they're baked in a foil tray it was easy to warm it up in the oven before I sliced them into bite sized pieces.
I placed them in the middle of the table and over the course of the afternoon we happily nibbled on brownie pieces - no need for forks or plates.
