Here at Le Dolci, we love when couples choose to take the elegant minimalist approach to their wedding. Sarah and Steve did exactly that this recently at The Great Hall Toronto and we were thrilled to be a part of it. Inspired by feelings like “warm, organic, classic, cozy, intimate, romantic with a touch of vintage”, Sarah and Steve accomplished the ultimate intimate wedding, with only 30 guests in attendance.
Our friends over at Blush and Bowties and White Oak were able to bring the colour scheme of rose gold, blush, cream, dusty pink and natural greenery to life. Even better was being able to decorate the wedding cake with fresh florals! We created a custom two-tiered version of The Allegra, decorated with fresh florals to match the gorgeous decor.
If you are looking for inspiration for a minimalist wedding in Toronto, look no further than this gorgeous shoot. See the rest of the photos on one of our favourite wedding websites, 100 Layer Cake.
What a crazy week it has been! Prince Harry is now a married man, Meghan Markle is a duchess, and Le Dolci got to have some super fun wedding treats of our own. We were featured by The National Post (pictured above), helped Sean Leathong of CTV News devour a whole cupcake in one bite, and the fabulous Lisa even busted out her Italian for OMNI News, along with tons of other Royal themed media appearances. We created a new flavour, lemon elderflower, in homage to Meghan, we wore David Dunkley and The Loved One headpieces, made Union Jack cupcakes, and so much more! Thanks to everyone who celebrated the Royal Wedding with Le Dolci.
Check out our Press Page for all the delectable coverage of the Royal Event here at Le Dolci.
Here at Le Dolci we love to take advantage of any opportunity to pretend we are royalty, so the Royal Wedding of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle was no exception. Especially considering our head queen Lisa meet Queen Elizabeth during a private luncheon in 2003, and GM extraordinaire Danie once presented Princess Anne with flowers during a grade school visit.
We decided to take our British connection to the next level by providing custom Harry and Meghan cupcakes and cakes for the city of Toronto. We even created a brand new flavour, lemon elderflower, to match Meghan’s cake. Check out some of the media outlets we were featured on below, including Lisa and Danie sporting gorgeous pieces by David Dunkley Fine Millinery and The Loved One.

Now we just need to find a Prince who loves cupcakes as much as us…
We can’t believe it, but the ultimate sweet tooth is married! Longtime Le Dolci customer Drew Scott from HGTV’s Property Brothers married the beautiful Linda Phan on May 12th in Puglia, Italy. Inspired by the nuptials, House Beautiful took us on a throwback back to when Drew popped the question, with the help of Le Dolci.
You guys know how much we love the Property Brothers, so we were thrilled when Drew came to Le Dolci in December 2016 to help plan the perfect proposal cake for his then girlfriend now fiance. Dr. Seuss is Linda’s favourite, so Drew knew he wanted something whimsical and delicious to pop the big question. Cue Le Dolci and our team of fabulous bakers who helped bring his vision to life.
This cake for Drew was inspired by Linda’s love for the beloved children’s book ‘Oh, the Places You’ll Go’, as well as their globe-trotting adventures together. Our four-tier creation was carefully handcrafted to represent all the wonderful quirks of Dr. Seuss, as well as represent the love between Drew and Linda. The adorable cake topper also acted as ring bearer as the cake was wheeled out to Linda, with a 1.2-carat round-cut solitaire diamond in a swirl setting, Drew’s own design.
We are thrilled for one of our favourite couples and can’t wait for many more baking adventures in the future! Congratulations to the new Mr. & Mrs. Scott.
Wedding season is upon us, so why not get a little bit of extra inspiration with this gorgeous moody Dutch wedding shoot that took place at The Campbell House Toronto. This creative collaboration was made possible by our friends at June Bloom Events, and featured an amazing display of flowers from Hunt & Gather Floral, table settings from Tableauscapes and so many more fabulous contributors. If you are tired of cookie-cutter weddings and are looking for unique and individual wedding inspo in the GTA then look no further.
This moody and timeless editorial was so much fun for us and we enjoyed every minute of the creative process! Le Dolci was honoured that the lovely people over at 100 Layer Cake loved the looks so much that they gave us a shout out on their website. 100 Layer Cake focuses on DIY Wedding Ideas in Toronto and were ‘swooning’ over our cake.
See below for a quote featured on their website from Joanne of June Bloom Events and to see some more of the gorgeous photos shot by the oh so talented Ryanne Hollies. This shoot was definitely anything but ordinary and we can’t wait to keep pushing the boundaries of weddings in Toronto and weddings in the GTA.
Joanne of June Bloom Events told 100 Layer Cake, We dreamt of a seamless blend of Dutch botanicals and a historic setting, all integrated with a dark and moody colour palette. We wanted old world and non-tradition to meet. So we met, drew inspiration from each other’s creative gifts and produced wedding inspiration for the couple willing to step out the box and flaunt their authentic loving selves all while keeping things edgy, classic and mysterious.
